(March 12, 1:45pm) In response to concerns over the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are reaching out today to communicate to you about our remaining performances.
Purchase College and The Performing Arts Center have been closely monitoring the guidelines provided by the CDC and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and have determined that, out of an abundance of caution and respect to the campus community, our patrons, and our artists, all public events planned on campus for the remainder of the spring semester, including all events and performances at The PAC, are cancelled.
All ticketholders will be notified via phone call and email before the end of week regarding options relating to ticket refunds. If you have questions or concerns you can reach The PAC Box Office at 914-251-6200. The box office will remain open through the weekend to assist patrons.
Thank you for supporting The Performing Arts Center and Purchase College. We are committed to protecting the health of our community and we thank you for your understanding.

“…an imaginative composer, a clever arranger and a skillful technician with a fluid style.” –DownBeat
The PAC’s intimate Black Box theatre will be transformed into a jazz club for this special evening with Christian Sands. Not yet 30, Sands is currently one of the most in-demand pianists working in jazz. In the last few years he has toured around the world as a bandleader and recently appeared as a sideman on records by Christian McBride and Gregory Porter.
On his stunning new album, Be Water, due to be released on May 22, Sands takes inspiration from water’s tranquility and power and muses on the possibilities offered by echoing its fluidity and malleability. It follows on the successes of the one-two punch of Reach and Reach Further – EP, Sands’ dynamic 2017 Mack Avenue debut and his live/unreleased studio tracks EP follow-up, and Facing Dragons, with an indestructible band and an unwavering allegiance to the groove.
