(March 12, 1:45pm) In response to concerns over the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are reaching out today to communicate to you about our remaining performances.

Purchase College and The Performing Arts Center have been closely monitoring the guidelines provided by the CDC and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and have determined that, out of an abundance of caution and respect to the campus community, our patrons, and our artists, all public events planned on campus for the remainder of the spring semester, including all events and performances at The PAC, are cancelled.

All ticket holders will be notified via phone call and email before the end of week regarding options relating to ticket refunds. If you have questions or concerns you can reach The PAC Box Office at 914-251-6200. The box office will remain open through the weekend to assist patrons.

Thank you for supporting The Performing Arts Center and Purchase College. We are committed to protecting the health of our community and we thank you for your understanding.

Be among the first to experience this new dance/theatre piece for young audiences from Treehouse Shakers. Incorporating shadow puppetry, original music, and movement, The Boy Who Grew Flowers is a magical and thoughtful story about diversity, creating empathy, and celebrating individualism.

Adapted from the picture book by Mara McEwin, commisisoned by The PAC, and choreographed by Emily Bunning, it tells the story young Rink Bowagon, who lives on top of Lonesome Mountain with his unusual family of rattlesnake tamers and shape-shifters. The townspeople agree that Rink’s family are quite strange, but they are unaware of Rink’s spectacular gifts. Whenever the moon is full, Rink sprouts beautiful flowers all over his body. When a new girl, Angelina, moves to town, Rink’s life truly begins to grow.

Founded in 1997 in New York City, Treehouse Shakers’ mission is to create original dance-plays that encourage multi-generational audiences to experience a connection to their community. Our young audience programming is unique in its offering of a guided look at modern dance through powerful and meaningful theatre.
